The Ashanti regional police command has declared four persons wanted in connection with a shooting incident which took place at the regional head office of the National Democratic Congress (NDC) in Kumasi.
One person was shot dead and another in critical condition at the Komfo Anokye Teaching Hospital after some gunmen disrupted a meeting between NDC executives and party members on Monday, February 18.
The police preliminary investigations suggest that the assailants are members of ‘The Hawks’, a vigilante group associated with the opposition NDC in the Ashanti Region.
Members of the vigilante group are said to have appeared at the Ashanti regional NDC office on motorbikes and fired gunshots which ended up killing one and leaving one injured while the NDC executives ran for cover.
