At least 14 persons have lost their lives and over 80 also injured in a fatal accident that occurred around 5:30am on Tuesday morning.
The accident, according to reports, happened at Kyekyewre, a town on the Accra-Kumasi Highway, in the Eastern Region.
According to eye witnesses, a cargo car believed to be heading towards Burkina Faso burst its tyre, causing the driver to lose control of the steering wheel and crushing into two other Accra-bound buses.
STC bus with registration number GE 813-16 and another bus with registration number GT 4997-20 were both involved in the accident together with the cargo car.
Personnel from the Ghana Police Service, National Ambulance Service and National Disaster Management Organsiation were able to rescue individuals through the help of the Nsawam-Suhum Government hospitals with bodies of the deceased conveyed to the morgue.
