Odike apologizes to John Mahama for describing him as corrupt in 2016
The leader of United Progressive Party (UPP) Akwasi Addai Odike, has apologized to former President John Mahama for tagging him as corrupt.
Odike said the current administration has done worst in the fight against corruption.
“In the build up to the 2016 elections, we were made to believe that the Mahama-led administration is the most corrupt.
“Following this, we decided to join then candidate Nana Addo to oust the corrupt administration. But four years on, none of the corrupt allegations has been investigated.
“The Nana-Addo administration is rather doing worst in the fight against corruption. I can say on authority that, this administration is the most corrupt administration ever in the history of Ghana”
He asked Ghanaians not to renew the mandate of the NPP in this year’s elections.
“Normally, corrupt practices emerge in the second or third year of every government but the Nana-Addo administration started immediately after swearing in. So the current administration is not credible and does not deserve a renewal of mandate”
The UPP was disqualified by the Electoral Commission to contest the December 7, 2020 presidential elections following anomalies detected in the forms it submitted to EC.
