Some Upper West Regional Executives of the New Patriotic Party (NPP) have threatened to boycott the visit by President Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo.
The executives are accusing the Regional Minister Dr. Hafiz Bin Salih of sideling them in the organization of the President’s visit.
The executives accused him of rather using past officails of the NPP in the region to plan for the visit.
Mr Akufo-Addo is scheduled to visit the region on Sunday August 21 and Tuesday August 23.
“The minister has refused to involve the party in the planning and organization of the event. He has decided to engage some other people including former Executives,” the Executives said.
But the Regional Minister expressed shock at the accusation against him.
He told TV3 that “I was surprised to hear from a group of NPP regional executive where they indicated that I have decided to run a one man show. That is strange. I have consistently updated the regional chairman regional secretary about the plan.”
