
Pope John SHS and Minor Seminary, a high-status all male second cycle school in the country is a well-respected Catholic school. They are also the 2001 winners of the “National Science & Math’s Quiz Competition”.
The school is located at Effiduase-Koforidua in the Eastern region of Ghana. Pojoss as it is called is widely known for its academic and sports excellence not forgetting its high level of discipline.
The millennium year group (2000year group) is earnestly preparing for its silver jubilee anniversary (25th after completing SHS). As part of efforts to raise funds for the anniversary, the chairman of the 2000year group, Daasebre Kwadwo Asare together with his executives have initiated a fundraising ceremony dubbed “The Chairman’s Ball”. The event is being organized to raise funds for the construction of an Innovation Incubator Centre. The “black tie” event is slated for Saturday, May 13,2023 at the MacDic Royal Plaza Hotel, Adweso-Koforidua. The ceremony starts at 5:00pm prompt.
In attendance will be all Pojoba’s of the 2000year group, other Pojoba’s from other year groups, regional and national executives of the Pojoba fraternity, representatives from the diasporan wing, some past and present tutors, invited old students of sister schools like St. Peter’s SHS, St. Roses SHS, Krobo Girls, Koforidua SecTech SHS, Ghana Secondary School-GHANASS, Ofori Panin SHS, Kukurantumi, Catholic Dioceses of Koforidua etc.
Other prominent Pojoba’s who are being invited are Daasebre Maxwell Opoku-Afari, Deputy Governor, Bank of Ghana, Daasebre Dr. Edward Omane-Boamah, a Health Policy Planning and Financing Expert, Former Communications Minister and currently a spokesperson of President Mahama, Daasebre Kobby Andah, MD, Bank of Africa, Daasebre Franklin Cudjoe is the Founding President and chief executive officer (CEO) of Think Tank IMANI Centre for Policy and Education, Daasebre Isaac Aboagye Duah, Pojoba National President, Daasebre Dr. Kingsley Agyemang, Registrar of the Scholarship Secretariat amongst many others.
The event also serves as a mini homecoming of all old boys of the 2000year group and other invited alumni who have not met for over a decade after the completion of school. The millennium group is using this event as an avenue for social networking and a springboard for business opportunities.
The event will be climaxed with a Sunday Omo Tuo special on Sunday, May 14, 2023.
