NDC doesn’t respect you; vote to retain NPP in power – NAPO tells Bia East and West constituents

The Vice Presidential candidate of the New Patriotic Party, Dr. Matthew Opoku Prempeh has appealed to voters in Bia East and West to turn their backs on the NDC, in the upcoming 7th December elections.

He said this is because close to three decades of voting for the NDC, they have little to show.

Speaking at a rally in Kaase and Debiso in the Bia East and West of the Western North Region on October 28, Dr. Opoku Prempeh said the level of development in the area is not commensurate with the enormous support the National Democratic Congress (NDC) enjoyed from the people of the region when they were in power.

“After 32 years of NDC, look around you. What do we have to show for it?” He asked.

“This party will come to you, offering lies and false promises. I tell you, they are trying to deceive you,” he charged the crowd.

NAPO observed that the NDC has taken the support of the people of the region for granted and thus should be rejected in the December polls.

He said since the constituents in Sefwi Akontombra changed their voting pattern and voted the NPP in, they’ve seen development unprecedented in the area.

Contrasting what he described as the decades of neglect and under-development under the leadership of National Democratic Congress (NDC) governments and MPs to the current situation, he challenged the people of the region to reject the oft-repeated lie that the NPP does not care about them.

He stated that the NDC is not committed to the development of Western North so anybody in the region who will mistakenly vote for the NDC should consider his/her vote as a wasted.

Dr Prempeh explained that “we vote in elections for development, so if you vote for a political party that doesn’t have your progress at heart, then you have wasted the vote”.

Mr Joojo Rockson Obeng, the Regional Minister said the government has taken a lot of cocoa growing initiative for the people because it’s a source of livelihood for the people and will still continue to support cocoa farmers.

“NDC is not a party that should be followed by anyone,” he said.
