The Minister of Finance, Dr. Mohammed Amin Adam has submitted the expenditure in advance of appropriation for the period January to March 2025 to Parliament.
This mini-budget, amounting to GH¢68.1 billion, is designed to ensure the continuity of essential government services during the transition period.
The incoming NDC administration will present the full budget for the remainder of 2025 at a later date.
However, this mini-budget is crucial to cover critical expenditures during the first quarter of the year, including salaries of public sector workers, statutory payments, essential infrastructure maintenance, and funding for vital social intervention programs.
The mini-budget is a constitutional requirement during a transition year to prevent any disruptions in government operations.
Following its submission, Second Deputy Speaker Andrew Asiamah Amoako referred the document to the Budget and Finance Committees for thorough review. These committees will scrutinize the figures and policies outlined in the mini-budget before reporting back to the House for debate and approval.
