Southampton manager Ivan Juric has praised Ghanaian forward Kamaldeen Sulemana’s work ethic and dedication after the Ghanaian winger delivered a standout performance in the Saints’ FA Cup tie against Swansea.
Kamaldeen Sulemana stole the show in Southampton’s FA Cup tie against Swansea, scoring a goal and providing an assist in Southampton’s 3-0 win over Swansea City. This performance marks a significant milestone for Sulemana, as it’s his first competitive strike for the Saints in over a year.

In a post-match interview, Southampton manager Ivan Juri? commended Kamaldeen Sulemana’s diligent efforts, emphasizing that the young winger requires continued confidence boosts to unlock his full potential.
“Sulemana has worked hard in the last 20 days; he wasn’t in very good shape. Now it’s the first game that I’m satisfied with his assist and goal. He’s a young player; he needs confidence, but he can give us a hand. I knew him before. I know everything about Sulemana when he played in France and the problems he has had here.”
The Ghana international, who cost a reported £22 million from French outfit Rennes two years ago, has been linked with a transfer this month, having made only two league starts all season, but Juric believes Sulemana can be an asset as the Premier League bottom side attempt to overturn a 10-point gap to safety.
“He can give us a hand; he’s a good player, and now in this moment the good players have to stay in Southampton, and maybe we will bring other players to (supplement them).”
Sulemana’s two previous goals for Southampton came in a 4-4 draw with Liverpool in May 2023, and his goal against Swansea was the perfect start the 20-year-old could wish for under the new tactician.
As the season progresses, Sulemana’s form will be crucial to Southampton’s success. With Juric’s guidance and support, the Ghanaian winger is poised to become a key player for the Saints, and his recent performance against Swansea has shown that he is ready to take on the challenge.
