Following a previous announcement by 3news.com regarding the vacancy at the helm of the Minerals Income Investment Fund (MIIF), the President John Mahama as appointed Ms. Justina Nelson as the Acting Chief Executive Officer.
The appointment was made in accordance with Article 195(1) of the Constitution and Section 21(2) of the Minerals Income Investment Fund Act, 2018 (Act 978), and it takes effect immediately.
Ms. Nelson is a seasoned professional with over two decades of experience in the banking sector. She currently holds a leadership position at Zenith Bank (Ghana) Limited, overseeing both the Energy and Commercial Banking sectors.
Her impressive academic background includes a Master of Laws in Corporate and Commercial Law, a Master in Business Administration (Marketing), a Bachelor of Laws (Hons) degree, and a Bachelor of Arts (Hons) degree in Management and Psychology.
All these qualifications were obtained from prestigious Ghanaian institutions like the University of Ghana and the Ghana Institute of Management and Public Administration (GIMPA).
The expectation is that Ms. Nelson’s proven leadership skills and extensive experience in the financial sector will be instrumental in guiding the MIIF towards achieving its objectives.
The MIIF plays a critical role in managing Ghana’s mineral wealth for the benefit of the nation’s development.
