Ghanaian youngster Raymond Asante has secured a permanent transfer to Belgian outfit Sporting Charleroi, bringing an end to his Udinese adventure.
The 20-year-old forward has inked a four-year deal with the Zebras, with the option to extend for a further two years, potentially keeping him at the club until 2028.
Asante’s transfer marks a new chapter in his fledgling career, which has been on an upward trajectory since his impressive stint with Udinese’s youth squad.
The Ghanaian prodigy was a shining light for the Italian side’s U-19 team, scoring 21 goals and providing 12 assists across all competitions, as they earned promotion to the Primavera 1.
During his time with Udinese’s Primavera side, Asante racked up an impressive 53 appearances, netting 23 goals and chalking up 13 assists. His remarkable exploits caught the attention of Sporting Charleroi, who swooped in to sign him on loan in the summer.
Although Asante’s Charleroi debut was delayed due to a knee injury, which kept him sidelined until December, he has been gradually easing his way back into the fold.
With just two appearances under his belt, the Ghanaian is eager to kick-start his career in Belgium and make a lasting impact at the Stade du Pays de Charleroi.
Asante’s permanent transfer to Sporting Charleroi represents a fresh start for the young forward, who will be looking to hit the ground running and establish himself as a key player in the Zebras’ attack. With his pace, skill, and goal-scoring prowess, Asante is poised to make a significant impact in the Belgian Pro League.
