Parliament is expected to adjourn sitting sine die (indefinitely) on Friday, March 28.
The Deputy Majority Leader, Rickets Kweku Hagan, in presenting the Business Statement for the ensuing week on March 12, said there will be extended sittings from Monday, March 24 to Friday March 28.
“The Business Committee proposes extended sittings beyond the prescribed sitting hours in the ensuing week. This is to afford the House ample time to exhaust the business.”
Sitting of the House from Monday to Wednesday would commence at 12 noon to allow committees to sit in the morning before plenary commences. But the house will sit at 10am on Thursday and Friday.
The Deputy Majority Leader reminded Committee Chairperson’s to expedite work on the consideration of the Annual Budget estimates and timeously report to the House to facilitate the passage of the Appropriation Bill, 2025.
Mr Hagan urged all members to continue to “devote themselves to the scheduled business for the last week of the first meeting of the first session to enable the House adjourn as proposed.”
