Coach Avram Grant has signaled an imminent end to his time as head of the Ghana technical team.
The former Chelsea gaffer’s 27-month contract runs out at the end of the ongoing Africa Cup of Nations in Gabon.
Grant, 61, in an interview with the BBC, stated that “I came for two years in Ghana, we extended to two years and three months because we qualified for the Nations Cup.”
“I will always take good memories from here, but hopefully the last memory will be the best one.”
Avram Grant, few weeks after taking the Ghana job, led the Black Stars to the final of the Afcon two years ago where they eventually lost on penalties to Ivory Coast.
He is on his final major assignment with the side at Gabon and is eyeing a halt to Ghana’s 35-year trophy drought on the continent.
After their 1-0 victory over Uganda, the Black Stars are on course to book a quarterfinals place if they beat Mali in their second Group D game on Saturday. Kickoff is at 4pm.
