The front center of Al Ain scored the second goal of Ghana (2-2) and also went into the history of the scorers in the World Cup. Giving the advantage to the Black Stars, Gyan became the first African player to score in three World Cups in a row.

Germany and Ghana were forced to settle for a share of the points after their back-and-forth thriller in Fortaleza finished 2-2. All the goals came in the second-half of the Group G contest as strikers Miroslav Klose and Asamoah Gyan both equaled FIFA World Cupâ„¢ scoring records.
