Founder and Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of Stratcomm Africa, Esther Cobbah, has underscored the critical role of strategic communication in strengthening and enhancing the competitiveness of small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs), particularly those within Ghana’s agricultural value chain.
Delivering her remarks at the closing ceremony of the 2025 Brand Reputation Week in Accra, she stated: “At Stratcomm Africa, we believe that communication is not just an add-on to business. It is the engine that drives visibility, credibility and sustainable growth.”
According to her, SMEs that prioritise effective communication are better positioned to scale up, attract new customers and access broader markets, while contributing to community and economic development.
The three-day capacity-building programme, held from 19 to 21 November 2025 in partnership with the Ghana Enterprises Agency (GEA), convened 20 SMEs. It focused on equipping agribusinesses to leverage communication more effectively in an increasingly digital-driven marketplace.
The initiative also sought to reinforce Stratcomm Africa’s positioning as a sustainability-oriented organisation that uses communication to drive socio-economic and environmental impact. It aimed to dispel perceptions that communication services are inaccessible to SMEs by providing practical, high-value and affordable solutions.
Further, the programme delivered hands-on tools and strategies to help SMEs strengthen brand reputation and deepen engagement with Stratcomm Africa, partner institutions and their target markets.
This year’s edition, themed ‘Communicating for growth in the digital age’, covered the fundamentals of strategic communication for SMEs on day one. Day two focused on practical training in digital branding and organisational growth, while the final day featured participant testimonials, partner remarks, certificate presentations, a mini exhibition and a speed networking session.
Participants described the programme as timely, transformative and essential for business success in today’s digital-first environment.
The event was supported by partners including the Ghana Enterprises Agency, Ghana Investment Promotion Centre and Mastercard Foundation.
