Organizers of the Vodafone Ghana Music Awards(VGMA), Charter House has stripped Dancehall Artistes, Shatta Wale and Stonebwoy of all the awards they won at the 2019 edition of the event.
The two artistes have thus been instructed to return plaques received on the night to Charter House immediately.
The two remaining awards that were unannounced on that night, the most popular song of the year and the artiste of the year have also been nullified.
“The two artistes are hereby stripped of all awards they won at the 20th VGMA and are thus requested by the board to return all plaques in their possession to Charterhouse effective immediately.
“The two remaining awards that were unannounced on that night, that is the most popular song of the year and the artiste of the year have for the 20th edition been nullified,” Chairman of the VGMA Board, Amandzeba Nat Brew said at the press conference.
These decisions come on the back of a fracas that occurred between the two artistes at Saturday’s event.
The two are currently in court over the incident.
Stonebwoy drew a gun after Shatta Wale rushed onto the stage with his fans while the former received an award.
Both have since apologized to Ghanaians over the incident.
Before the VGMA Board’s announcement, Shatta Wale announced that he will no longer take part in any VGMA event.
