Cedar Mountain Chapel of the Assemblies of God Church at East Legon has supported staff of Citi FM and Citi TV with a donation of food items amid the coronavirus lockdown.
The head pastor of the church, Reverend Stephen Wengam led a delegation from the church to the station to present items such as rice, tomato pastes, milk, sugar and tinned fish.
Rev. Wemgam, who is also Citi FM‘s Resident Pastor, emphasized the importance of the media during the pandemic.
“Whilst everybody is at home, the media has to work so the board thought we should reach out to the staff at Citi FM and Citi TV who are at the forefront of accurate reporting and educating the masses,” he said.
The church has also been supporting its vulnerable members with some relief items amidst a lockdown of Accra.
The support will also be extended to other vulnerable persons in and around East Legon.
Bernard Avle, the General Manager of Citi FM/Citi TV, expressed gratitude to the church on behalf of the staff.
“The coronavirus is testing everybody and we are daily exposed to peril so for a church to think about what you do and to bring us something is very thoughtful.”
