Obiba Sly Collins
Renowned Ghanaian highlife musician, Obiba Sly Collins, in collaboration with Obiba Foundation and Chemarims Federation Africa, will host a peace concert dubbed ‘Ghana Peace Campaign’ on Sunday, December 1, at the Madina Market, La Nkwantanang School in Accra.
Ghana Peace Campaign is aimed at promoting peace and unity among Ghanaians as well as educating Ghanaians about the importance of peace before, during and after the December 7 elections.
The concert, which kicks off at 4pm, is expected to draw a wide array of audience who will be entertained and educated on peace. It will witness performances from some seasoned musicians who will use their performances to preach against election violence and also encourage the youth to support peace and refrain from acts of violence before, during and after the December 7 elections.
The event, dubbed “Mass Conference and Street Jam’, will witness performances from some seasoned and upcoming musicians such as Amandzeba Nat Brew, Obiba Sly Collins, Gyedu Blay Ambolley, Pat Thomas, Ras Caleb Appiah-Levi, Shegah, Pozo Hayes, Dela Botri, Mr Merror, Agbeshie and a host others.
Obiba Sly Collins, who is credited with a number of inspiring and educative songs, is one of the headline acts for the event.
He is credited with a number of albums which include ‘Don’t Forget Your Culture’, ‘Yeboa Ghana’, ‘Odo Fantastic’, ‘Voice of Reason’, ‘Total Unity’ among others.
Sly Collins has been in the music industry for over four decades. Since the 1990s, veteran musician Obiba Sly Collins has been consistent in composing songs which call on Ghanaians to tolerate one another’s political views during electioneering seasons.
