Ghana beat Uganda in International Polo Championship
Accra, Mar. 25, GNA Accra Polo Club of Ghana defeated Kakira Nile Polo Club of Uganda by seven and a half goals to three in their International Polo Championship played at the Accra Polo Grounds.The game, which was started on a fast note saw Ghana, who were given a half goal due to their weak handicap, making several incursions into their opponents vital area.It therefore came as no surprise when Jamil Ibrahim opened the scores for Ghana two minutes inside the first Chukka.Darko Agyemang was on hand to give Ghana two more goals in the second Chukka while Jamilu Mohammed and Juan Pablo scored two goals each in the third and fourth chukkas before Uday Kalaan netted three penalty goals for the visitors in the last chukka of the game.Mr Daniel Awuah Darko, past Captain of the Accra Polo Club was happy with the performance of the two clubs and expressed the hope that the sport would be developed into an international standard.GNA
