Accra May 31, GNA - A Private legal practitioner has appeared before an Accra Circuit Court charged with causing unlawful damage and threat of death.
Daniel Yaw Amoah Boakye pleaded not guilty to causing damage to a vehicle and its accessories, a television set and threatened to kill any one who got closer to him at drinking spot near University of Professional Studies.
The court presided over Ms Eva Bannerman Williams was admitted Boakye to bail in the sum of GH?80,000.00 with three sureties one to be justified.
Boakye is to make a security deposit of GH?20,000.00 in court and report to the Police every other Tuesday and Friday.
Prosecuting Chief Inspector Charles Chester narrated that the complainant, Gakpo Olympio is the Manager of Eligreen Drinking Spot at the University of Professional Studies Junction, Legon, Accra.
Chief Inspector Chester said the accused person resides at East Legon.
On May 24, this year at about 2:30 pm customers were at the spot enjoying themselves when Boakye who was armed with a club went to the spot in the company of some thugs numbering about 15 and without any provocation started destroying things on sight.
Prosecution said in the process Boakye caused damage to one Game of Pool, a windscreen of a Navara Pick Up with registration number GR 4578-16 and its two side mirrors, two head lights and also dented the body of the car.
Chief Inspector Chester said Boakye also caused damage to an LG flat Screen television set, all totalling GH?67,030.00.
According to Chief Inspector Chester Boakye further dared the manager and people around not to come near him else he would kill them.
“He also vowed to come back to the spot to kill anybody on sight even if he is arrested and granted bail” prosecution added
Chief Inspector Chester said after the operation Boakye went away with the thugs. On May 25, this year, the suspect was arrested at Adjiriganor.
