Kumasi, Nov 03, GNA - Over 300 people at Aboabo, a densely-populated community in the Asokore-Mampong Municipality, have benefited from free medical screening.
They were thoroughly examined for various diseases including diabetes, hypertension and malaria, had their eyes tested and supplied with free drugs.
On hand to do this was a team of doctors and nurses drawn from different health facilities in the Kumasi Metropolis
The exercise, organized by the Muslim Health workers Association of Ghana, was used to educate on the need to avoid unhealthy lifestyles.
Dr. Aisha Ali Issaka, President of the Association, said it was part of the effort to bring quality healthcare to the poor and the vulnerable.
She gave the assurance that this would be sustained, adding that, it was only when people had good health that they would be productive.
She encouraged everybody to engage in regular physical exercises to keep healthy.
