Accra, March 8, GNA — The Ghana Trade Fair Company has initiated training seminars as part of the 23rd Ghana International Trade Fair and Exhibition to encourage patronage of the fair through building startup entrepreneurship.
This year’s Trade Fair aimed at creating an enabling environment for businesses to thrive and gain both local and international recognition.
The Fair also sought to create side-events geared towards equipping young entrepreneurs with the requisite knowledge and technical know-how needed to help their businesses to survive on the highly competitive world market.
Mr Joseph Akaribo, the Public Relations Officer of the Ghana Trade Fair Company, in an interview with the Ghana News Agency, said: “This year’s Trade Fair is quite special because it does not only include selling and buying of goods and services.”
“We are much concerned about young startups and that is why we have introduced something special for them.”
He said for the start, a seminar, dubbed: “The PITCH,” would be organised on Friday, March 8, on the theme: “Starting a Viable Business: DO’S and DON’TS”.
Mr Akaribo said seasoned resource persons would be brought to train the participants to become the best they could.
“The seminars we have brought on board will increase their knowledge- base in the business field and make them stand out in their various fields of specialization.”
Speakers include Bishop Gideon Titi-Ofei, President of the Accra Business School, who would speak on: “The Mind of a Successful Entrepreneur,” and Mr Gbenga Odeyemi, the CEO of FBN Bank, Ghana, would address the: “Challenges of Managing an African Business.”
The others are Mr Maximus Ametorgoh, the Managing Director of Popout Ghana; Madam Whitney Boakye-Mensah, the CEO of InnovationsWBM, Mr Ebenezer Abeku Onumah, the Head of SME Marketing and Retail, Sunu Assurances; and Ms Sheila Azuntaba, the CEO of Innovative Microfinance.
