Kumasi, July 15, GNA – Members of the 2000 year group, of the Prempeh Old Students Association (Amanfo), have pledged their continued support to provide infrastructure to improve the delivery of quality education in the school.
Mr. Yaw Adu-Gyamfi, the Secretary, said the group was considering a number of initiatives, including the setting up of a special fund to support the provision of infrastructure projects in the school.
Speaking at the launch of the 20th anniversary of the year group in Kumasi, he said the leadership of the group was also in talks with the National Executive Committee (NEC) of the Prempeh Old Students Association, on how best they could contribute to complete both stalled and on-going projects in the school.
The year-long programme will be held under the theme “Upholding the Prempeh College Standard: The Impact of the Millennium Amanfo”.
On hawking activities around the school, Mr. Adu-Gyamfi said it was a great worry since it disturbed the serene environment and pledged that the group would lead efforts to stop it.
He said other business activities such as drinking spots and vehicle sales points as well as vulcanizing shops, which were springing up around the school, would also be stopped.
