Ghana midfielder Michael Essien attended the official launch of the Indonesia top-flight season on Monday.
The 34-year-old, who has joined heavyweights Persib Bandung, was among high-profile personalities who graced the occasion at the Fairmont Hotel in Jakarta.
The former Chelsea star is one of several top players who are beginning to troop to the Asian region to revive their careers.
The Indonesia Premier League will kick-start on Saturday April 15.
