Chief Executive Officer of AshantiGold SC Kudjoe Fianoo has disclosed that Charles Akunnor will undergo a two-week coaching attachment with German side Wolfsburg at the end of the current Ghana Premier League.
The former Ghana international spent five years at the German outfit, where he captained them for a season before persistent knee injuries curtailed his time with the club.
Akunnor was appointed as the coach of AshantiGold in the latter part of the first round to help extricate their ailing campaign, which he has superbly executed following their four-match winning streak in the second round to lift the club to 13th on the standings.
And Fianoo, who hired the former Black Stars skipper, has revealed that the former Black Stars skipper will be seeking to enhance his coaching skills at his former club when the Ghana Premier League ends.
“He is doing well with Ashgold and has management’s full backing to enable him succeed,” Fianoo told SportsworldGhana.com
“Currently he is talking with his former club [Wolfsburg] for a possible attachment after the season ends.”
