Ghana winger Christian Atsu is set to return for Newcastle this weekend when they play Leicester City as he nears full fitness.
Manager Rafael Benitez has revealed that the duo of Christian Atsu and Paul Dummett are nearing a return to full fitness which is a big boost for the Magpies.
Atsu has also been sidelined since suffering a thigh tear while training with Ghana ahead of last month's clash with Egypt.
Benitez has revealed that the duo of Atsu and Dummett could be available for selection once again following their time out due to injuries.
He said: "I don't know. We will see this week. Atsu was very close, Dummett was very close, Jamaal was better but we will see how he feels during the week.
"They are closer but we will see on Tuesday how they feel. They are getting better."
United are currently on a terrible run of form, having lost five out of their last six Premier League encounters but as a slight boost for the Magpies.
