English Premier League giants, Arsenal denied former manager Unai Emery his request to sign Ghana midfielder Thomas Partey in the summer transfer window.
According to reports in the UK, Arsenal's board turned down Emery's proposal to sign the midfielder from Atletico Madrid because the club felt his release clause of 50 million Euros was expensive.
Partey was high on the list of Emery's transfer target and it was reported that the 26-year old was keen on moving to England to sign for the Gunners.
Arsenal spent over £130 million during the last transfer window by completing deals for Nicolas Pepe, Kieran Tierney, David Luiz, Gabriel Martinelli and William Saliba.
However, the Gunners have made a poor start to the Premier League campaign with the team currently sitting 11th in the Premier League, registering just 19 points from 15 matches so far.
The Spanish tactician was also interested in signing Crystal Palace attacker Wilfried Zaha and former Leicester City defender Harry Maguire.
