Reading FC defender Andy Yiadom is fighting to be fit for the Championship trip to former club Barnsley on Wednesday night.
The 28-year-old is an injury doubt after he picked up a knock during their 3-2 defeat at home to Birmingham at the weekend.
The Royals are weighing the option for a making a late call for the full-back ahead of their trip to Oakwell
"Andy was playing most of the second half with a bang on his knee so he wasn't 100 per cent comfortable on Saturday but I hope he will be available to play," said boss Mark Bowen.
"He tried hard in the second half carrying the injury and maybe if he was 100 per cent fit he'd have made more overlapping runs perhaps.
"But he carried on though because he's got a big heart and hopefully the injury will settle down well.
"I have no doubt with him he'll be looking forward to the game and he'll be hoping the injury settles down too."
Yiadom joined Reading after he was released by Barnsley in 2018.
He played 66 games in a two-year spell with the Yorkshire side and he has featured in exactly the same number for Royals to date.
