Despite receiving backing from the Ghana Football Association and the government to continue his role, Addo is aware that poor results could put his position at risk, especially after failing to qualify for the 2025 Africa Cup of Nations. Ghana endured a disastrous AFCON qualifying campaign, failing to win any of their six games and missing the tournament for the first time in two decades.
Ahead of the crucial fixtures, Addo has been rallying support and recently paid a courtesy visit to the Ga Mantse, King Tackie Teiko Tsuru II, where he called for national unity behind the team.
Ghana urgently needs victories to qualify for the [2026] World Cup, Addo stated.
We need the support of all Ghanaians, especially the Ga Chiefs, to help us in this task so the whole nation can be happy.
The Black Stars will face Chad at the Accra Sports Stadium on Friday, March 21, before travelling to Morocco to take on Madagascar three days later.
