Asante Kotoko coach Karim Zito is happy to finally enjoy a full week of training with his players, a break he believes will help the team prepare better for their next game.
After a busy run of fixtures, he feels the extra days offer the chance to regroup, work on key areas, and allow the squad to rest properly.
The Porcupine Warriors head into Sunday’s clash with Hohoe United with a mixed run of results, three draws, one win, and one defeat in their last five matches. For Zito, this window of time comes at the perfect moment.
"I'm very happy. I'm very happy when you look at the training we are trying to massage it. We are going to manage it so that I'm also happy they they've rested. But my problem is I have designed my training program for them to rest," he told Asante Kotoko TV.
Kotoko sit 5th on the league table with 21 points after 12 games. They travel to the Hohoe Sports Stadium on Sunday, hoping the extra preparation will make a difference.
