The head coach of Asante Kotoko, Abdul Karim Zito, has acknowledged that the team is in a difficult situation after going four matches without a win.
The Porcupine Warriors, in their last four matches in the Ghana Premier League, have only managed to pick two points from a possible 12.
In that poor run, the Reds lost twice and drew the other two, scoring three goals and conceding five.
The series of poor results has hugely impacted the team’s Ghana Premier League title aspirations, with the Kumasi-based outfit now fifth on the league table and five points behind league leaders Medeama Sporting Club.
Opening up on the four-game winless run, Coach Abdul Karim Zito has admitted that things are tough. He is, however, confident that his players will turn things around in the upcoming matches, starting with the MTN FA Cup Round 64 tie against lower division side Future Stars FC.
“I think we are in a difficult moment. The players, the technical team, and the IMC because of the poor results in recent matches. We must continue fighting for the objectives we have set for ourselves,” Zito told AKSC Media.
The FA Cup tie between Future Stars and Asante Kotoko will be played on Wednesday, December 10, at Okese Park. The match will kick off at 3 pm.
