The Black Queens have surged up the latest FIFA women’s rankings, moving five places to claim 62nd globally following a string of strong performances since August.
Ghana’s 2024 WAFCON bronze medallists previously ranked 67th, and their rise further cements their position among Africa’s elite, sitting third on the continent behind Nigeria and South Africa.
The Queens’ ascent reflects a dominant campaign at this year’s WAFCON in Morocco and a commanding 7â0 aggregate victory over Egypt in the 2026 tournament qualifiers.
Their only setback during this period came in a December friendly against England.
Having secured qualification for the next WAFCON, Ghana now turns its attention to preparations for the 2026 edition, set to run from 17 March to 3 April in Morocco.
