Spain international of Ghanaian descent Nico Williams has emerged as a priority target for Premier league giants, Liverpool.
Williams, who currently plies his trade for Athletic Bilbao is considered as a potential replacement for Egypt star Mohammed Salah, whose future at the club grows increasingly uncertain.
Currently, the Premier League giants are exploring options to strengthen their squad, as they plan for the possible departure of Salah in the summer.
Liverpool has, however, set sights on securing the services of the Athletic Bilbao winger, but the Premier League outfit face a stumbling block in the acquisition of the forward, with Real Madrid reportedly expressing interest in him.
Williams is hoping for interest from Real Madrid after a move to Barcelona was ruled out by Barcelona.
The 23-year-old Spaniard extended his contract with the Basque club until the end of June 2035, with a buyout clause set at â¬95 million.
This season, the player has featured in 16 matches across all competitions for the Basque side, netting three goals and providing two assists.
