Rangers FC have emerged as leading contenders for the signature of London-born Ghanaian midfielder Cameron Ashia.
The in-form Huddersfield Town player will become a free agent at the end of the season, making him available to talk to interested clubs.
With several clubs, including Celtic reportedly interested in his services, Rangers are preparing a pre-contract for the Ghanaian to fend off rivals.
Ashia has been in good form for Huddersfield but struggles for consistent game time, informing his decision to leave at the end of the season.
The attacking midfielder has already made six-goal contribution in the ongoing campaign in 18 league matches.
Meanwhile, clubs in the English Championship including Birmingham City, Stoke City and QPR are all tracking his situation at Huddersfield.
The 19-year-old joined Huddersfield from Derby's youth team and spent time on loan at Torquay.
Ashia was born to Ghanaian parents in England and has ready represented the European at youth levels, but remains eligible to play for the African heavyweight.
