Tottenham manager Igor Tudor has offered a promising update on Ghana midfielder Mohammed Kudus, revealing that the 25-year-old is making significant progress in his recovery from a hamstring injury and could return to action within weeks
This is a boost not only for Spurs but also for Ghana's 2026 World Cup preparations.
Kudus has been sidelined since January, dealing Spurs a major blow as they battle against relegation. But Tudor, speaking ahead of Sunday's crucial Premier League clash with Nottingham Forest, indicated that the former West Ham star is edging closer to a return.
"We have these three big weeks after the game on Sunday. [Kudus will return for] probably some part of things with the squad, maybe in ten days? I'm not sure; we need to check, but he is progressing very well, already with the ball," Tudor said.
The Ghana international has been working on his fitness and has now returned to training with the ball, a significant milestone in his rehabilitation. Tudor also mentioned that James Maddison and Rodrigo Bentancur are making progress, with the Croatian hoping for a "nice surprise" from the medical staff in the coming weeks.
"We hope the medical staff will make us some nice surprises. It will be very, very, very important to have them."
For Ghana, Kudus's return to fitness would be a major boost ahead of the 2026 World Cup. The Black Stars have been drawn in Group L alongside England, Croatia, and Panama, and the creative midfielder is expected to play a pivotal role in Otto Addo's plans. His availability for the tournament, which kicks off in June, will be crucial if Ghana is to make a deep run.
Spurs currently sit 16th in the Premier League, just one point above the relegation zone, with Sunday's clash against Nottingham Forest representing a six-pointer at the bottom.
The return of Kudus would provide a significant boost to Tottenham's survival hopes as the season enters its decisive phase.
