Mathew Amoah urges GFA to consider competence over nationality in search of new Ghana coach

Former Ghana striker Matthew Amoah has urged the Ghana Football Association to consider competence over nationality as the search for a new Black Stars coach intensifies.

The West African football powerhouse has been sharply divided as to whether a Ghanaian or a foreign coach should succeed Avram Grant.

A six-man committee has been put in place to search for the new coach of the 4-times Afcon champions with expectations that the new coach will be announced in the first week of April.

But Matthew Amoah believes that competence must be a component in determining who becomes Ghana’s next coach.

“Ghana need a good Coach whether black, white, green or yellow, we just need a good trainer to coach the boys because for me colour does not matter”
