Asante Akyem Scouting Tournament kicks off on May 1

Coach Gobbo Renzo, former Palermo coach has arrived in Agogo, in the Ashanti Region to scout for players to represent Asante Akyem, in for an upcoming tournament at the Accra Sports Stadium from 27th-29th May, 2019.

The Asante Akyem scouting tournament, which is the brainchild of Mr. Kwadwo Baah Agyemang, Board Chairman for the National Sports Authority (NSA), is aimed at giving hope to budding talents who need a platform to exhibit their hidden talents.

In an interview with GNA Sports, Mr Baah Agyemang noted that there abound a lot of talents in the Asante Akyem environs and it was time they seek for a helping hand to monitor, scout and groom them for professional work.

“I had a discussion with Mr Oliver Arthur, Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of Arthur Legacy, who has been dealing with a lot of scouts across Europe and he is bringing into Ghana about fifteen (15) scouts to Ghana to hunt for talents.

“So through him, I got coach Renzo on board to help me at Agogo to come up with a team, that would represent Asante Akyem for Under-18 scouting tournament slated for the Accra Sports Stadium in May, 2019.

“In all eight (8) teams would participate in tomorrow’s tournament at the Agogo Collins Park, after which a formidable team would be formed to represent us for the main event in Accra,” he added.
