Clottey, whose fight with British boxer, Tommy Jacobs, on November 23 was cancelled, noted that his career was not finished as he prepared to relaunch his career with a world title shot.
The 42-year-old fighter returned to the ring last March, having gone four years without activity and is looking forward to adding more fights in a bid to land a world title shot next year.
Without age on his side, Clottey remains hopeful of being in shape to fight at the highest level despite not fighting competitively for years.
In an interview with the Graphic Sports, the hard-hitting Ghanaian said he was working at an upcoming fight which he believed should get him closer to a world title by close of 2020.
“I won two fights on my return to the ring and that should tell you that I’m not finished,” Clottey said. “There are some fights coming in but I have to weigh the options in order to make the right choice.”
“As it stands now, I just need few fights to get me closer to a world title shot and I’m working on a particular fight that could secure me that by close of next year,” he added.
Having risen to fame after an emphatic victory over Zab Judah in 2008 to become a world champion, Clottey went on to fight the likes of Miguel Cotto, Antonio Margarito and legendary Manny Pacquaio during his hey days.
