The Kumasi-based businessman now answers to Obrempong Nana Kwaku Duah, and has since last Friday sworn the oath of allegiance to the Omanhene of Agogo, Nana Akuoko Sarpong.

Obrempong Kwaku Duah is the grandson of the late Barekesehene and son of the late Kumawuhene, Barima Kwaku Duah.
Nana Akuoko Sarpong explained that the Apesemaka Stool had been vacant for some time, and upon consultation with the Kumawuhene, Barima Tweneboa Kodua, Obrempong Kwaku Duah was considered for the Apesemakahene, created for Ahenema and Ahenenananom for the purpose of protecting the grand stool.
He explained that the enstoolment had been occasioned by the fact that Kumawu and Agogo are traditional brothers, and charged him to serve diligently.

Nana Amoateng Brenyah, Chief of Barekese, urged the Apesemakahene to protect his new position by serving diligently.
He reminded the new chief to consider his new position as having enrolled in a school and, therefore, should learn hard.
The 55-year-old chief has pledged his commitment to development of Agogo State through youth empowerment in the area of agriculture to ensure food security.
He called for peace and unity among the people saying: “Where there is unity there is peace and progress for development.”
