The Deputy Bono East Regional Organiser of the National Democratic Congress (NDC), Isaac Kojo Nsiah, on Saturday died in a road crash near Techiman.
The Chronicle picked up information that the incident occurred when Nsiah’s NDC branded double cabin pick-up vehicle ran into a truck loaded with bags of fertiliser on the Kintampo -Techiman highway.
Credible sources told The Chronicle that three other passengers, also party executives, who sustained severe injuries, are currently at the Techiman Holy Family Hospital receiving treatment.
According to the sources, the party executives were returning from Apesika, where they observed the funeral of the mother of NDC’s Kintampo-South Deputy Youth Organiser, when the accident occurred around the Tuobodom toll booth.
The NDC National Youth Organiser, George Opare Addo, confirmed the incident with a statement he issued on Saturday:
“It is with sadness I announce the death of Isaac Kojo Nsiah, Bono East Deputy Regional Youth Organiser, who passed away in a car accident a few hours around the Techiman Toll Booth area. Three others who were part of the entourage have been admitted and receiving treatment at the Techiman Holy Family Hospital.
The other three passengers in the vehicle were Efo Worlanyo Tsekpo, Bono Regional Youth Organiser, Bilal Muazu Sulemana, Bono East Regional Youth Organiser, Rashid Ahmed, Deputy Bono Regional Youth Organiser. They were returning from a party function in Kintampo South Constituency. Our thoughts and prayers are with them.
The Youth Wing commiserates with the family of the deceased and share in their loss. May the Almighty strengthen us all in these times.”
Nomiah was elected Bono East Regional Deputy Youth Organiser of the NDC in May, 2019.
