Rev. Dr. Amuel Worlanyo Mensah, Economist and Lecturer
The Center for Greater Impact Africa, a research institute, has commended the North Dayi District Assembly for standing tall in the implementation of projects, which were carefully designed to address the socioeconomic challenges confronting the people.

The ongoing construction works on the Tsrukpe-Botoku road
thereby making it one of the most innovative and directly addressing the development needs of the people.
The Executive Director of the Institute, Rev. Dr. Samuel Worlanyo Mensah, who is an Economist and Lecturer at the Wisconsin International University College in Accra, said a research conducted in thirty district assemblies in the country saw the North Dayi District Assembly come first with a 76 percent total score, using a contemporary development scale.
The Rev. Dr. Worlanyo Mensah explained that the 2020 research was considering project commencement and effective implementation, which took into account value for money in relation to projects being executed, as well as those that have been completed, saw the North Dayi District Assembly scoring high points as it worked closely in collaboration with the people, and prioritised their development needs in carrying out projects.
The Lecturer and Economist, who made the research findings known to the media, mentioned some of the projects completed and ongoing and being used as a 400-capacity boys dormitory at Vakpo Senior High Technical School (VASTECH), provision of computers and accessories for selected basic schools, modern kitchen for VASTECH, mechanisation of water system for Vakpo Traditional Area, and a six unit classroom block for Awate-Agame community.
Other projects Dr. Worlanyo Mensah mentioned included a six-unit modern classroom block at Botoku–Brada Tornu, where there exists no access road to the community, except using a narrow path and climbing two mountains, Botoku-Tsorxor road construction project, provision of communication mast at Bume, Sabadu, Aveme, and Wusuta, cocoa and cashew nursery for farmers, art gallery for artisans at Vakpo, work on Tsrukpe-Zanukope road, and work on Wademaxe-Aveti roads
Rev. Dr. Worlanyo Mensah commended the North Dayi District Chief Executive, Mr. Kudjoh Attah, for distinguishing himself as a selfless leader who put the interest and welfare of the people first, as the Assembly implements development projects that would promote the economic life of the people and reduce poverty.
The Lecturer, therefore, urged metropolitan, municipal and district chief executives to emulate the leadership style of the North Dayi DCE to help facilitate rapid development at the local level.
He further said identifying the development needs of the people in consultation with them, as experienced in North Dayi, would go a long way to bring relevant and timely development to the people at the grassroots.
He also appealed to the government and other stakeholders to help deepened local governance by supporting the national decentralisation process to ensure the smooth implementation of development projects until local governance becomes more relevant and meaningful to the people.
He appealed to the media not to pay more attention to partisan politics and relegate development issues to the background.
Mr. Edmond Kudjoh Attah said he was not surprised about the research findings on the development activities of the Assembly, because with projects that were carried out, the relevant stakeholders were consulted to ensure that tehy would not be imposed on the people, thereby helping to address the crucial needs of the communities.
Mr. Kudjoh Attah, however, stressed that he does not lord his position over the people, as he regards the opportunity offered him by the President, Nana Akufo-Addo, to serve the interests of the people rather than engage in activities that would not impact positively on them.
