An impactful workshop was organised by Bella Africa, a non-governmental organisation for 80 women in Sekesua, a farming community in the Upper Manya Krobo District, which among other things aimed at empowering them and improving living standards in rural communities.
The training was through the instrumentality of the Member of Parliament for the Upper Manya Krobo constituency, Bismark Tetteh Nyarko.
The women predominantly engaged in the production of gari, shared their challenges related to processing and marketing during the workshop.
Mrs. Dalida Couturier, the Team Leader of Bella Africa, assured the women that their concerns had been duly noted and hinted at her organisation’s preparedness to alleviate their challenges by providing essential machinery and financial services.
Expressing appreciation for Bella Africa’s presence, MP Bismark Tetteh Nyarko, urged the women to maintain honesty in their dealings with the organisation, emphasising that transparency would benefit not only Sekesua, but also their communities.
He committed to supporting and complementing Bella Africa’s efforts in elevating living standards across various communities as he advised the women to remain committed to the National Democratic Congress (NDC) and its leadership.
