Ms Shirley Ayorkor Botchwey, Minister of Foreign Affairs and Regional Integration
The Passport Office and the Regional Passport Application Centres will no longer accept the old manual passport application forms obtained from selected banks upon payment from February 28, 2019.
According to the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Regional Integration, this is to ensure the full migration to a new downloadable passport application form which started in November 2018.
A statement signed by the Public Relations Department of the Ministry, in Accra yesterday explained that as part of the new process, payment of the passport application processing fee is to be done electronically via MTN Mobile Money, Vodafone Cash, MasterCard or Visa Card.
The downloadable passport application form, the statement said could be accessed on the ministry’s website; www.mfa.gov.gh, under the passport link and a link for the payment was also available on the same page.
The ministry therefore advised the public and all prospective applicants to take note that, the Passport Application Centres would only process applications with evidence of electronic payment of the appropriate processing fee.
“The public is assured that the ministry remains committed to its quest for effective passport service delivery to the Ghanaian public,” the statement added.
