Actor and director, Fiifi Coleman has revealed that he earns more money from theatre/stage productions than in movies.
He said he is earning more even though the theatre sector is now picking up.
Speaking in an interview with Andy Dosty on Daybreak Hitz on Hitz FM, Fiifi Coleman revealed that, theatre has been able to transform into a revenue-generating avenue for the arts.
“The stage is now growing very fast in Ghana. I am bold enough to say that for me stage is even paying more than even the screens pay….,” he said.
The actor, however, failed to disclose how much he makes from movies and theatre productions.
Fiifi, who has been active in both the movie and theatre productions for some years now, noted that the lack of well-trained personnel in the movie sector is one of the contributory factors to the collapse of the industry.
“Everybody comes and says ‘I’m a director, I’m a director’ but they are not properly trained. So there was an influx of so many movie houses…,” he told Andy Dosty.
The actor also noted that the storylines need to be written to suit the market audience.
Fiifi Coleman is known for movies such as ‘Pieces of Me’ (2015), ‘The Most Beautiful Hour’ (2012) and ‘Ties That Bind’ (2011).
