British police are investigating an incident that occurred on London Bridge Saturday evening, after witnesses reported that a vehicle mounted the pavement and mowed down pedestrians.
BBC News reported that police currently investigating the scene are armed.
Sky News reported that a white van drove off the road on London bridge and hit five or six people. London Transport Police said that the London Bridge station is closed off.
Police have not yet provided details. A Reuters reporter near the scene said she saw 10 police cars rushing towards London Bridge.
Fox News cited witnesses who said that people had been stabbed, and some said they heard shots fired.
The casualty count is not yet confirmed. Some passersby told The Spectator's Will Heaven they saw 15-20 people struck, while others said they saw 7-8. Heaven also said he heard reports of stabbings.
Authorities said they were aware of the reports but would not release more information until they could confirm the facts.
