Kenya’s President Uhuru Kenyatta has been re-elected in Tuesday’s vote, the national electoral commission has announced.
Mr Kenyatta secured 54 percent ahead of his rival Raila Odinga who had 44 percent.
The election was largely judged as free and fair by the elections observer mission.
The opposition National Super Alliance boycotted the release of the final results saying they had concerns which the electoral commission failed to address.
In his acceptance speech, Mr Kenyatta reached out to Mr Odinga and his supporters.
He said in every competition, there will be losers and winners, saying they should join in building Kenya.
