Allegations: Corrupt MASLOC officials under NDC to be prosecuted

The CEO accused the previous government of politicizing operational activities of MASLOC.

The Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of the Microfinance and Small Loans Centre (MASLOC), Stephen Amoah has revealed that officials implicated in large-scale corruption scandals at MASLOC under the erstwhile administration of the National Democratic Congress (NDC) will be prosecuted.

He accused the previous government of politicizing operational activities of MASLOC.

His comment comes at the back of more than 350 commercial vehicles, mostly taxis, have been confiscated from individuals and groups who failed to repay loans they contracted from MASLOC.

 

MASLOC has mounted an intensive search to retrieve more than 150 more vehicles whose owners are indebted to the centre.

Beneficiaries of MASLOC?credit facilities are indebted to the centre beyond GH¢100 million, covering the period from 2009 to 2017.

Mr Stephen Amoah, in an interview on Accra-based Okay FM complained about the precarious financial situation of the organisation since he assumed office.

 

"MASLOC is not for NPP neither it is for NDC. The past government and even some members of the NPP who would be found guilty will be prosecuted and I will personally make sure that their names are published and jailed as well.

"We know some beneficiaries who are musicians, movie producers, and actors and I can assure you that they will all be dealt with according to law," he said.
