
There have been eight major gas explosion cases recorded in Ghana since 2014, according to an infograph sited by Pulse.com.gh.
Two of the cases were recorded in 2014, two in 2015, one in 2016 and three in 2017.
The Greater Accra Region has recorded the most cases with six. Takoradi in the Western Region recorded one case, and one at Kasoa in the Central Region.
The most recent one occurred at Atomic Junction near Madina in Accra on Saturday evening.
six people have been confirmed dead with over 35 people injured. Four others are in critical conditions and have been placed at the Intensive Care Unit at the 37 Military Hospital in Accra.
According to reports, 35% of the over 300 burn cases recorded at the Korle Bu Teaching Hospital this year [2017] were from gas explosions.
