Accra Hearts of Oak have returned to winning ways after defeating Berekum Chelsea 3-1 at the Legon Sports Stadium on Friday night in the Ghana Premier League.
Ramzy Yussif, Hamza Issah, and Kwabena Boateng were enough for the Phobians to return to winning ways at home following the 1-0 loss they suffered in the Super Clash against their archrivals, Asante Kotoko.
The strong tactical plan of coach Aboubakar Ouattara was executed perfectly against Chelsea, with Ramzy Yussif opening the score for the Phobians in the 16th minute.
Hearts continued with their dominant play, with Hamzah Issah scoring the second on the night to put the Phobians in a comfortable lead; however, Emmanuel Sarpong pulled one back for the visitors with a glancing header into the net of Benjamin Asare.
The Phobians could not rest and scored in the 81st minute after Hamzah Issah set onside Kwabena Boateng to head home the third goal, cementing victory for the Hearts at home.
Hearts next game
The win has seen Hearts of Oak leapfrogging Asante Kotoko to 5th position in the league log; Kotoko has a game with Dreams FC later on Sunday afternoon.
The Phobians will take on next their regional rivals and relegation-threatened Accra Lions next in the Ghana Premier League.
A win for the Phobians will keep them in the top 6 as they fight to win the Ghana Premier League title. Aboubakar Ouattara, who is confident in his team, will be seeking to conclude the first round in a good position before the league heads to the second round in the coming days.
