The Secretary General of the Trades Union Congress, Kofi Asamoah, yesterday said the leadership of the workers’ union, as well as the rank and file are “fed up†with holding meetings with government only to come out with agreements that are disregarded with impunity by the parties involved.
He disclosed that in 2010 when there was a hike in utility tariffs, organised labour met with then Vice President, and now President, John Dramani Mahama, and collectively agreed that tariff increases should be done in a graduated manner but for political reasons that was never done.
