The bereaved family of the late Captain Maxwell Adam Mahama who was lynched on Monday by enraged youth at Denkyiraboase in the Central region will hold a press conference on Saturday June 3, 2017.
Captain Mahama was mistaken for an armed robber on Monday, pelted with stones and burnt to death on his way from jogging.
The President Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo, the former President Joh Dramani Mahama and other politicians have consoled the bereaved family.
So far, sixteen people have been arrested in connection with his death, and seven out of the sixteen are on remand including the assemblyman William Baah who allegedly mobilised the youth to commit the heinous crime.
The seven have been charged with murder, whilst the remaining nine who are assisting with investigations and will be processed for court next week.
The District Chief Executive (DCE) Daniel Appianing had claimed the dead soldier was protecting some people involved in galamsey in the area.
He has been sacked by the President Nana after his public utterances and accusations against the dead soldier.
The late Captain Mahama left behind a wife and two children.
